A one-eyed lion who was injured down the side of his face just like the villain in Disney’s Lion King has been spotted in Kenya.
Amateur photographer Fabrizio Bignotti from Milan, Italy, was touring the Maasai Mara national park when he came across Benna the lion.
Some have compared Benna to Scar – the villain from Disney’s Lion King – who was also wounded on the left side of his face.

Benna lost his left eye in a brutal fight with a rival, leading many to compare him to Scar from Disney’s Lion King, who was also wounded on the left side of the face
Mr Bignotti, 55, said: ‘He is a crazy looking lion, but he is very sweet.
‘He lost one eye because of a brutal fight.
‘Many people think male lions have an easy life because the lionesses provide the food. People think they sit around and sleep all day, and sometimes they do.
‘But most of the time they are patrolling to defend their territory and protect the pride – I remember this particular pride had seven cubs and two lionesses.
‘The males end up in fights with other lions that want to take the lionesses.’
Disney’s live action remake of the 1994 film debuted at cinemas on Friday and dominated the box office by collecting £350million globally over the weekend.

Even when missing one eye, Mr Bignotti said Benna is still able to protect his pride from predators, which is a male’s main role
Mr Bignotti said that Benna’s pride has seven cubs and two lionesses which need protecting, with the male’s role being key to this
